Design work is progressing with our Horseshoe Bay "Water House" Project. Over the past two months, we jump right into the deep end.. with site studies, pre-design, topography and programming exercise.
Site studies and walking the land with the owner is always the first step to any successful project. This allows us to "feel out" the land and document challenges such as trees, obstructive views, boat dock locations and neighboring properties. Once we know our limitations, we proceed with the design by moving into the the next phase, known as Programming.
During our programming exercise, we we take inventory of each space (size, location and views, etc), which allows our team to start laying out the project based on room adjacency and functionality.
A few exhibits used during this process are found below. Communication is critical at during this early design phase, as it lays out the (literally) foundation for a great project. Once we receive a notice to proceed (NTP) we push into the next phase - Schematic Design (next week).
