Today we observed the completed foundation for the detached workshop garage. This work was carried out about a week after the house foundation was completed.
The garage threshold provides protection from moisture and leaf's - paired with an overhead door gasket.
Due to the grade change, the restroom area was elevated to offset the height difference and minimalize the driveway ramp. This was necessary to not only reduce cost, but to allow low vehicles to enter and exit the garage without "bottoming" out on the transition.
A stepped stem wall was required to minimize the elevation difference on the oversized garage bay.
