Lake Austin Renovation Project - Roof, Exterior Paint and Decking

As summer nears and temperatures climb rapidly, the construction team is working at full speed on the renovation of Brass Buttons. The contractor has just finished the standing seam metal roof, as well as the exterior painting and the deck. We are now waiting for framing inspections to proceed with insulation and gypsum wallboard.
Standing Seam Metal Roofing
A significant enhancement to the current home involved installing a new metal standing seam roofing system. This necessitated relocating plumbing stacks to avoid visibility from the street side, as they were previously constructed. Additionally, we reduced some of the deep overhangs to improve views of the Lake Austin and Mansfield Dam.
Exterior Paint
When we are hired for construction administration, we frequently create mock-ups of paint colors before starting the work. This is a fairly extensive process that demands precise coordination between the owner and the subcontractor. Earlier in this project, we were commissioned to assist in refreshing the adjacent house, and we carried this over to the cabin project. It will all make sense later when the decks are connected.
Deck
As the project is situated in the Urban Wildlife Interface, a deck product with a 1-hour fire rating is necessary. We chose a Timbertech product that will harmonize our color palette with the new siding, stone, and standing seam choices.
