Today, we are sharing a small construction update on our home renovation project nestled in the charming community of Lakeway. During our recent site visit, we were greeted by the sight of our dedicated contractor applying the finishing touches to the new balcony. It’s shaping up to be the perfect spot for morning coffees and evening relaxation.
Inside, the transformation is equally impressive, with most of the interior framing now complete in the new master bedroom addition. This space promises to be a serene retreat for the homeowners. The progress extends to the meticulous trim work, the application of interior finishes, and a fresh coat of exterior paint that’s bringing the whole project together.
In line with the homeowner’s vision of a “modern country home,” a bold decision by the Owner was made to paint the stone elements white. This choice has beautifully elevated the home’s aesthetic, infusing it with a bright and airy feel that complements the natural surroundings. The white stone not only enhances the property’s modern appeal but also harmonizes with the rustic charm that is synonymous with country living.

Motif was hired to measure and document (original blueprints were not available) an existing home in the Lakeway neighborhood. The owners were seeking a permit to renovate selected areas on the home and built a new addition that meets the City requirements.
As their trusted architect, we collaborated with the contractor and City of Lakeway to produced the documentation required for permitting, code compliance and construction.
Our team also worked with a structural engineer, to verify load bearing walls and generate demolition plans to expand several rooms inside the house.
